Age Limits
A student must be 14 years old to apply for a Student Permit to train for a Recreational Pilot Permit as a Private Pilot.
Medical
Application for the Student Permit is made automatically, following successful completion of a medical examination by a Transport Canada Approved Doctor. Fees for medical examinations (usually $100.00) are payable to the examining Doctor.
Ground School
The Brantford Flight Centre Ground School is a comprehensive training course in our bright and spacious classroom. The Ground School Course takes advantage of an Audio-Visual System and is conducted on Monday evenings from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The course runs for 19 weeks which provides 57 hours of instruction. Subjects covered include: Meteorology, Navigation, Airframes, Engines, Airmanship, Theory of flight and use of Radios. Bob Ogilvie, our ground school instructor, is a retired school teacher who knows how to help you learn. He is passionate about flying and loves to help students whenever they need assistance.
How to start flying
You are welcome to take advantage of our Introductory Flying Lesson without obligation. If you decide that you want to begin training, make an appointment for your Aviation Medical with a Transport Canada Approved Doctor.
