Age LimitsA student must be 14 years old to apply for a Student Permit to train for a Recreational Pilot Permit as a Private Pilot.MedicalApplication for the Student Permit is made automatically, following successful completion of a medical examination by a Transport Canada Approved Doctor. Fees for medical examinations (usually from $75.00 to $100.00) are payable to the examining Doctor.Ground SchoolThe Brantford Flight Centre Ground School is a comprehensive training facility in our bright and spacious classroom. The Ground School Course takes advantage of an Audio-Visual System and is conducted on Monday evenings from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The course runs for 19 weeks which provides 57 hours of instruction. Subjects covered include: Meteorology, Navigation, Airframes. Engines, Airmanship, Theory of flight and use of Radios. Bob Ogilvie, our ground school instructor, is a retired school teacher who knows how to help you learn. He is passionate about flying and loves to help students where ever they need assistance.How to start flyingYou are welcome to take advantage of our Introductory Flying Lesson without obligation.
